Definitions

It is accepted that the worship of a creator is religious because religion can be defined as the worship of a deity. Even if a person ascribes creative powers to a tree he  is still regarded as being religious. Although some evolutionists claim to be religious because they believe that God worked through evolution, this is just an attempt to have it both ways. Evolution itself explains what we see around us as purely the result of unintelligent natural forces.  Although professing to be science, evolution is in fact a religious belief unsupported by scientific evidence. The difference between evolution and other religions is that it masquerades under a scientific cloak of words. When examined closely one finds that it attributes to expressions  like “nature” and “natural selection” the very powers of a creator. Nature is spoken of designing for various purposes, and although the specific word create is not used, one may ask how can one design for a purpose without having the power to create, design and purpose.

If we see a beautiful lake untouched by human development we regard that as natural and the product of nature. By this we do not imply that nature is intelligent or having creative power but it is just a word describing something untouched by human development. The evolutionist goes further. He denies the existence of a creator but attributes intelligence and creative power to this word. So he will say that nature designed the object of his discussion to do this or that.

At this point I wish to introduce a new perspective. True religion is one that is based on fact. False religion is based on a blind faith, that is a faith without evidence to back it up. Now it is interesting that the Bible gives us the definition of true faith. (Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Can you see that contrary to what people generally believe, the Bible does not teach us to have a blind faith.

In times past it could be said that humans would see the wisdom and purpose in nature and so deduce from this fact that there had to be a superior power. They worshipped rocks and trees because there was not sufficient knowledge available to enable them to arrive at accurate conclusions. Modern critics may regard them as inferior, but reasoning from cause to effect is sound reasoning. Lacking accurate knowledge was the reason for their failure to find the true God. Our science has built on the accumulated knowledge of centuries and this has made it possible to arrive at more accurate conclusions. The scientific evidence today points to the universe as having a beginning and  as nothing can produce nothing the logical conclusion is that it had to be created.

Assumption No. 1

Here the first assumption of evolution comes to the fore. Refusing to accept the logical conclusion that the universe was created, they persist in  trying to find an alternative explanation. In other words they assume that it was not created in spite of evidence to the contrary. Evolutionists have proposed the “oscillating theory” to explain the expansion of the universe” in an effort to maintain the belief that the universe was always here. Doubtless now that it has been disproved, they will continue to search around for some other alternative explanation showing their blind faith in evolution. That is false religion and not science.

It is true that theories are a part of the scientific method but these are based on evidence and not on a desire to circumvent evidence.

Assumption No. 2

Another assumption regarding  the appearance of life is that the earth had a completely different atmosphere to our present oxygen and nitrogen mix. There is absolutely not the slightest evidence that such an atmosphere ever existed but it is necessary to assume that it did in order to have some of the basic chemicals of life appear.  Our present atmosphere makes it impossible for these chemicals to appear and this is further evidence that life could not just appear but had to be created.

Assumption No. 3

It is well known that the cell provides the starting point for life’s reproduction. By dividing and so making copies of itself, the creature grows to maturity. Every living thing starts with a single cell. When Darwin formulated his theory the cell was regarded as a simple structure, and just like our primitive savage his ignorance led to him developing the theory of evolution. He theorized that the slight modifications observed in life forms were the process of evolution in action. He thought this could go on indefinitely and so allow creatures to develop into other creatures, but he was wrong.

Mendel studied the growth of peas and attributed the changes to the genes in the DNA. He developed a mathematical formula that showed how the genes came to be distributed in the DNA of the new plant.  Application of that formula explained why certain characteristics like color could disappear for a time and then reappear in later generations. As parents could not pass on what they did not have, this explains why the many varieties in a group of animals, (which the Bible calls a “kind”) can all be traced back to a common ancestor. Dogs for example can all mate with each other as long as it is physically possible and it is the compatible genetic structure found in the DNA that makes this possible. The evolutionary assumption that the process of modification has no boundaries and is unlimited is shown to be false, as the very existence today of clearly defined “kinds” of life forms proves that there are definite boundaries to these  changes.

Assumption No. 4

The assumption that a cell could evolve is also a false assumption. Even the simplest life form that consists of a single cell is so complicated that it could never evolve. Without reproduction, characteristics can not be passed on and so while the cell was assumed to be gradually forming, whatever develpements that had occured, would not have been able to be passed on. Why? Because only the completed cell is capable of duplicating itself and so passing on its characteristics to future generations of cells.  Even a virus which is apparently a section of DNA has to rely on a host cell to replicate itself. Furthermore recently I observed  a DVD entitled “unlocking the mystery of life” that shows that there are little machines similar to the machines that we make in the cell itself. All this shows that just as a machine made by us has to be designed and the parts assembled in a certain sequence, this could never have happened by accident. So once again science confirms creation.

Assumption No. 5

Evolution assumes that similarity in design proves evolution but it does nothing of the sort. I have shown in other articles on this site that any layman by thinking  the matter through can see how impossible this is. Similarity merely shows design for a similar purpose. Bicycles with two wheels although similar to buses and trains with many wheels do not imply evolution but rather imply design for a similar purpose. Many variety’s are just various ways of achieving a common purpose.

To prove this to yourself, consider the immense task that evolution has to evolve an arm. I have discussed this in detail in another article on this site, however all one has to do is think the matter through. Starting with the two bones forming the shoulder, then the muscles, tendons and computer program in the brain. Follow with the network of nerves to carry the brain’s instruction to the arm. Then add the sequential addition of the elbow and the forearm. Next the wrist and fingers have all to be designed and the muscles, tendons and nerves together with the programs in the brain to operate them have to be evolved without intelligence and memory. and not even knowing why they were being formed.

Mankind’s Maccano Set

Think about it. Evolution is all imagination based on a belief in the goddess, nature. What the evidence does indicate is that if our creator is powerful enough to create a universe he does not need evolution to accomplish his task. An examination of his creations reveals that he likes variety and is a master designer. A study of the creation reveals that he desires living creatures to enjoy life because of the many gifts that he bestows upon themy. Consider music for example. As a musician myself I appreciate the whole pattern of musical pitches and tonal colors that can be used to produce wonderful music. By combining these sounds into pleasant meaningful harmonic and melodic patterns an infinite number of musical arrangements can be made. Consider how we differentiate between noise and music. How does evolution account for this? Just as a loving father purchases a “Meccano” set for his son so that the boy can build and enjoy an infinite number of machines, so God has given us the ability to match all these sounds according to definite orderly patterns which are pleasant to the ear.

I am using music as an example but consider the many other things we find joy doing. Why do some enjoy gardening?  it is not necessary for the survival of the fittest. Consider the creative ability that we possess. Does this not indicate that being made in God’s image, we reflect some of his wonderful creative characteristics. I realize that someone will draw attention to the ugly side of life, like pain sickness and death. But rather than disproving the existence of God, this shows that God must have given us an explanation for the presence of these things, and in fact he has. It is to be found in the Bible. Perhaps you feel that there are many holy books, and why not them?  Basically they are not old enough. Only the bible goes back to the beginning. Many other books like the Koran and the book of Mormon refer to the Bible.  However if one has the Bible what do we need them for if the Bible can completely answer our need to know? Also the Bible contains warnings about receiving other messages even if brought by an angel.

(Galatians 1:8-9) . . .However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.

Assumption No. 6

Another assumption that evolutionists have arrived at, is the assumption that the fossil evidence in the earth has only been formed by slow evolutionary processes. The visible evidence contradicts this. The Bible records the history of mankind from the point of view of God’s purposes. For example it records that at one time a universal flood occurred that destroyed all life except the limited “kinds” that were taken into the Ark. Is there evidence to support this claim? Yes, the whole earth is covered with layers of sedimentary rock that contain millions of fossils of life forms, some of which are extinct today. These were buried under vast layers of water-laid sediment. Furthermore, there are hundreds of legends from all around the earth, that speak of the earth being destroyed by a global flood. Now the best evidence of an event is an eye witness account, or written records from individuals closer to the event which have the stamp of truthfulness. Unless positive factual evidence is produced to discredit the written records, and the persons that produced them, we would be bound to accept them as true. To disbelieve this evidence we would need to show that the writers of the Bible were dishonest and untruthful men. To the contrary, history shows that these were men of integrity. In fact, persons who followed their teachings  suffered greatly and many died because of their confidence in the records that these men had written. The secular historical evidence also shows that the Bible believers of those early times were honest truthful men of high morals. This kind of evidence is much more reliable than the speculations and imaginative theories of critics.

Is The Bible Reliable?

Now the Bible records the history of what happened. Millions have believed and thousands have died to faithfully preserve a record of these events to our time. No other holy book can compete with the Bible in this regard. Thousands of handwritten documents in many languages have been faithfully copied and are so accurate so that even when the most ancient copies are checked with copies made centuries later, only minor changes have occurred. Scholars have even been able to correct these changes because of the vast number of available manuscripts. Translations are available in so many languages that almost everybody has access to a copy of the Bible. Think of it. All other ancient books are only supported by a very few copies and are generally only found in museums. The most ancient of all books, the Bible,  is available for us to read each in his own language. The nation of Israel preserved the Bible  even though it actually portrays them as a disobedient people who always disobeyed God’s laws. Even the New Testament was written by Jews who testified how their nation actually rejected their Messiah. This honesty is not apparent in the histories of other nations.  The Egyptians, for example attempted to falsify their histories in some cases and never ever recorded their defeats.

The foregoing constitutes the greater authority of the Bible. What does the scientific physical evidence show? The fossil record backs up what we would expect to find if the Bible record was true. Millions of fossils all over the world and a world covered by sedimentary layers. So why should one look for alternative explanations and attempts to criticize the Bible. This is where the evolutionary bias shows up. People do not realize today that it is only in the later 18th century that the story of the flood of Noah’s day began to be abandoned. This was because slower time consuming theories were necessary to justify the evolutionary hypotheses. Most Scientists up to that time wholeheartedly believed that the flood actually occurred and accepted the fossil record as evidence of that fact.  If you need to know more about that subject check the articles on my site recording “evolutionist’s time scale” and the “geological hoax”.

From the foregoing it should be apparent that missing links are only missing in the imagination of the evolutionist. The entire theory is based on unprovable assumptions. The only valid reason for evolution is because it is a false religion hiding under the cloak of science and designed to break faith n the Bible and in God.
