Most persons are under the impression that primitive life forms are millions of years old. This is what I believed when I embraced the evolution theory. It was only after I was asked to explain how the eye was formed and suddenly found that this was impossible to explain satisfactorily that I began to question the many statements that I had previously accepted without question.

Suddenly I wanted to know just how they dated these animals. I used to believe that in some way radioactive tests had been used to supply the dates. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the test used to date organic material only pulled up dates in thousands of years.

Do evolutionists find these ancient fossils with the dates stamped on them? No! We are told that the fossils were found in strata layers for which the dates were known. When asked how the dates of strata layers were arrived at, I was surprised to find that the composition of the strata was of no account and therefore never used in the dating process. I had read about this in a book that supported the global flood of Noah’s day. To verify this claim I looked around for a simple geological textbook and found one on stratigraphy, I was surprised to find that it agreed with the book on the global flood.

If the composition did not matter then how did they date the strata layer? Again I was surprised to find that they got the date from a fossil that the strata contained. Once again we asked the questions, how did they arrive at the date of the fossil?

How The Geologic Table was Created

Shortly after evolution was introduced, the fossils were arranged in an imaginary sequence created by the evolutionist according to how he imagined evolution worked.  As we know, differences in the size of the beaks of finches were offered as proof of the evolution theory by Darwin in his book “Origin of the Species.” However, apart from these slight differences, the finches remained finches and did not change into something else as required by evolution theory. In fact we never see any animals or birds changing into something else. The evolutionist’s explanation for this absence of evidence, is that the change proceeds so slowly that it is not visible to us. This explanation reminds me of a story that I learned as a child. It goes something like this: There was a little tailor who was assigned the job of making a suit of clothes for an emperor.  Apparently he could not do this so he told the emperor that he used special material that could only be seen by intelligent people. As the story spread around the court, the emperor did not want to appear stupid so he pretended to put these clothes on. Of course nobody wanted to be considered stupid or displease the emperor so they all expressed their admiration for the new suit that the emperor was wearing. The hoax was only exposed when a child spoke up loudly in the hearing of all and said. Mommy look “the emperor is walking around naked” Can you see the connection?

To support the evolutionary theory, fossils have to be millions of years old, and so what did the evolutionist do? He assigned imaginary ages that were millions of years old to the fossils that were to be used as index fossils, in an effort to give support to his theory. He did this without any factual evidence at all.  In this way, the evolutionists provided themselves with an explanation for the fact, that animals have never been seen to change into something else. So the procedure followed was basically this:-(1) Assume the theory of evolution as a fact. (2) Arrange selected fossils in imaginary evolutionary sequence. (3) Estimate imaginary dates in millions of years to these fossils. (4) Label these selected fossils as index fossils (5) Date the strata layer according to the index fossil found therein. (5) Create a geological table using this procedure and print it out. (7) Use the table to date any other fossil found in the strata layer.

So evolutionists began this dating process by assigning  dates to certain fossils which they regarded as typical of certain periods in earth’s history according to the evolution theory. These fossils, they called index fossils, and used them to assign dates to the strata layers. Of course, in assigning these dates, the evolutionist had to imagine that the index fossils were only alive at one time in earths history. He could not confirm this theory, because there was no basis for the assumption, however it was necessary, if he intended to use the fossil as an index fossil..

The Part That Index Fossils Play

Index fossils are used to date the strata layers that they are found in. Furthermore, Index fossils would have no value in dating strata layers, if they are not confined to periods of earth’s history. Therefore to maintain the evolutionary illusion, it had to be assumed that the index fossil only lived at one time in earth’s history. Is this so? No! This has been disproved time and again by the discovery of ancient fossils that have modern day living equivalents.

Once ages are assigned to these fossils the rest is simple. When an index fossil is discovered in a layer of rock, the strata is given the date of the age of the index fossil, together with a fancy name like cretaceous for example. Thus the sequence of strata layers with their dates and names were invented by the evolutionist and called the geologic table. The actual table is never found in nature. It is all in the mind of the evolutionist, however the geologist accepts this table because he is either an evolutionist or because he has been taught that this is a fact by the educational system.

How The Fossils Are Dated

From then on it is easy. The geologic table  with its assigned names and dates is printed out. When the evolutionist finds a new fossil he merely compares the strata layer, that the fossil was found in, with the geologic table to see what dates were assigned to that particular strata layer. The new fossil is then dated according to the information found in the geologic table.

So when you hear that sharks are millions of years old and that dinosaurs are many millions of years old just remember that these dates are all guesses, dishonestly put out as fact by evolutionary scientists. As the majority of people are unaware of  how the geologic table was arrived at, they will generally accept the table as proof that fossils are millions of years old. The table only came into existence a few hundred years ago, and before that most of the scientists in the world generally accepted the historical record of the Bible as true, believing that the fossils were produced by the global flood of Noah’s day. This is a far more reasonable explanation because animals after death do not lie around for millions of years while the strata that covers them is gradually formed. Flood waters get the results far more quickly. Notice the explanation given in this encyclopedia.

The identification of strata by the fossils they contained, pioneered by William Smith, Georges Cuvier, Jean d’Omalius d’Halloy and Alexandre Brogniart in the early 19th century, enabled geologists to divide Earth history more precisely. It also enabled them to correlate strata across national (or even continental) boundaries. If two strata (however distant in space or different in composition) contained the same fossils, chances were good that they had been laid down at the same time. Detailed studies between 1820 and 1850 of the strata and fossils of Europe produced the sequence of geological periods still used today. (wikipedia)

Notice that the table was created before much was known about radioactive materials.

In the Book “Stratigraphy” by D.T. Donovan, on page 28 in the chapter entitled ” “Correlation by Fossils,” we are told; “Smith’s discovery that each formation is characterized by distinctive fossils are an empirical one. Moreover, stated in this form, it is of limited usefulness. It was soon realized, however, that fossils could be used as indicators of age irrespective of the rock-type in which they were found.”

Answering The Radioactive Objection

Evolutionists argue that radioactive materials can be used to date the strata. This is not so.  The strata layers consist of sedimentary rock which is water-laid. All radioactive materials could have been active and in existence for a long time before the powerful action of flood waters ripped them up and deposited them in the strata. The dates of the strata and the dates of the radioactive sample are not necessarily the same. The evolutionist assumes that the two are the same and if the date is similar to the date provided by the geological column he accepts it as proof, dating  the strata by the radioactive material within it. This date is then used as supporting proof in the geologic table.  The evolutionist believes the strata took millions of years to form based on Lyell’s “present is the key to the past” assumption.  The evolutionist proceeds on the assumption that evolution is true. However, this is only his preferred belief. He has no proof of this. Creation has been scientifically proved by the evidence that the universe had a beginning and therefore had to be created. Once God enters the picture, God can create with an appearance of age. That is why all dating methods attempting to date the moon have come up with contradictions some old and some young.

For example, take the question of what comes first, the chicken or the egg, the baby or the grownup. Can the egg or the baby survive on its own? No. Therefore the answer has to be the chicken or the grownup. The Bible agrees with this logical conclusion. Two grown up people were created at the beginning. A doctor, examining Adam or Eve would estimate them be about 30 years of age. and yet the fact was that they had just been created. The same could be the case with the universe. So to try and place limits on God’s power is futile. It is not wrong to estimate ages but when they contradict the Bible we need to draw the line. We must always remember that things can have an appearance of age.

Science fiction movies are based on this fact. It is imagined that a spaceship can jump to another Galaxy, based on the idea that space is curved. It has been detected that light is apparently affected by gravity and bends to some extent around objects. Therefore it is assumed that it is theoretically possible that what we see, is an object that is in a circular path and therefore could in reality be very close to earth. Science fiction then imagines that if we had the technology we could shorten the distance by a jump across to this galaxy. Of course this is science fiction but does show that creation in some ways could give the appearance of something and yet with more advanced knowledge, we might find that the reality is quite different.

With regard to the geologic table consider the diagram below.

All the pictures are on the surface of the earth. Then compare this with where it is supposed to fit into the geologic column. If it appears low down the scale it is merely assumed by evolutionists that erosion has worn away all the other layers above it. However consider how ridiculous this claim is. We know that erosion as an erosive force does exist. Now how can you take millions of years to form a strata layer while it is being eroded at the same time. The two forces cancel our one another. The only time that the forces of erosion can work satisfactorily is when the strata layer are laid down very quickly, by flood waters and while comparatively soft, are eroded away.

The Truthful Alternative

The Bible record is supported by other historical evidence. Whenever critics challenged it as to truthfulness or accuracy, time and again it was  vindicated by later historical discoveries, yet evolutionary scientists persist in  discarding  it as legend and myth. What I find amusing is that presidents are sworn in on it and oaths are taken in court on the Bible and yet the majority of people do not believe in it because of the teachings of evolution.

Creations research scientists play into the hands of evolutionists because their explanations of the scientific evidence makes the Bible appear ridiculous. Their scientific research is excellent but interpreted according to their religious beliefs. These beliefs are based on the traditional belief of the churches they belong to, and not the Bible as many persons may think. The churches explain the Bible according to their own doctrines and traditional beliefs. These explanations are not always correct. People then get the impression that this is what the Bible actually teaches. A simple example is the fact that many churches believe that the  world was created in six, twenty four hour days. An examination of  Hebrews 4:1-5 in the Bible shows that the apostle Paul explained that God’s seven day rest was thousands of years long and not 24 hours long as these churches persist in teaching.

When once the fraudulent claim of the millions of years is exposed, there is no valid reason why we should not once again accept the Bible as accurate history, as scientists accepted it in the days before the myth of evolution took shape.
