The Modern View

To many people the end of the world is an old tune played on an old violin that we have heard so many times before that we don’t even bother to listen to the tune anymore.
It has been the subject of many science fiction movies, and very often it has been presented as a natural catastrophe like a collision with a meteor or a nuclear war and so it has come to be viewed as science fiction. The popular religious presentation is that many fanatical religious groups have been proved wrong so many times when they tried to predict the end of the world that the subject has become very boring.
Another thing is that over the last two hundred years new systems of education, like the “theory of evolution” and the “higher criticism”  have been taught to people. These teachings have contributed to the idea that this is just a fanatical belief based on superstitious fear held by religious persons and therefore  not to be take seriously. People have also been encouraged to believe that the Bible is open to many interpretations and so how could we be sure that these interpretations are not just interpretations.

If one believes in the authenticity of the Bible and that Satan does exist, then it is very easy to understand that Satan would be doing his best to prevent people from believing in an end of the world if that is what the Bible teaches.

Another thing if the bible does teach that there is an end of the world, Then is it reasonable to conclude that God would have recorded this information with the idea that we would never be able to understand what the Bible has to say on the subject?

(2 Timothy 3:14-17) . . .You, however, continue in the things that you learned and were persuaded to believe, knowing from what persons you learned them 15 and that from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through the faith in connection with Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

The idea that the Bible can be interpreted any way is another of Satan’s subtle ways of getting people to move away from the Bible. The reasoning is presented in this way. Because of the many religions, they are supposed to be all interpreting the Bible differently. This is not true. After the apostles died an apostasy arose that had been predicted by Jesus in his parable of the sower. (Matt 13:24-30, 36-43) By about 325 CE the emperor gathered the  apostate Bishops of the Christian congregation together. The emperor who was not a baptized Christian at the time, presided over this council which produced a statement of belief that was adopted as the official constitution of the new  Christian Church.  As the apostle John had stated that there were already many antichrists in his day, after his death, these apostates had almost 300 years to introduce their unscriptural teachings into the church.  At the council of Nicea in 325 CE, Emperor Constantine presided over this council and accepted the constitution that was produced making it the official constitution of the new state religion. The churches today have all inherited their teachings from that original church. After a dispute over some minor issue, some broke away and started a new church. However the main teachings remained the same. This splitting process  continued down the centuries, so the present church method of searching for texts to support their basic doctrine is their way of studying the bible and can in no way be considered as a true Bible study. There is a scriptural method  of studying the Bible  that I will explain later.

Many persons that do not even believe in the theory of evolution are still nevertheless being affected by some of the beliefs, little realizing that they have an evolutionary basis. These persons generally accept these ideas believing that science has established them as fact.

To understand what, I mean consider these facts.

Most Bible believers have been taught by their respective churches that God created the universe in six 24 hour creative days. Their church members are under the impression that this is what the Bible teaches, but this us not so. Then they hear reports that certain animals are millions of years old. Thinking that this is a scientific fact, many  doubt the Bible. but the majority of persons are not aware that these long ages  are just evolutionary theory.  I have supplied the proof to my allegations in my articles “The Geologic Hoax” and Evolution’s Time Scale” on this  site. The individuals deceived may be sincere and want to serve God but because of these bogus reports in the media, they lose their  faith in the Bible. The Churches that they belong to and look to for guidance do not correct their thinking and contribute to it by teaching wrong teachings like the 24 hour creation days.

Many clergymen had good intentions at first, but had their faith destroyed by the teaching of the “higher criticism” philosophy in their seminaries. The late 1800’s and the early 1900’s was a time when the system of “Higher Criticism” was taught in their religious colleges.
This system was created by evolutionists masquerading as believers in God and the Bible.
However what they taught prospective clergymen was designed to break down their faith.

How was this done?

“Higher Criticism” was based on the theory that the bible was not an inspired record. They treated the Bible as being a clever book put together to maintain the power of the priests.  Because they did not believe in the inspiration of the Bible, they asserted that all prophecies were written sometime after their supposed fulfilment. To keep up the deception they assumed that other writers had doctored the text. Their teaching is based on the theory that as men evolved and became more intelligent they developed religion  first by worshipping various objects in nature (called animism) and then moved on to the worship of many Gods (called polytheism) As religion is supposed to have evolved, humans are supposed to have finally developed the worship of one God (called monotheism) Of course our generation was regarded as the highest form of intellectualism and so now have no need of these myths. When my children were growing up I found that in their social study classes the text book that they were using was a production of the “higher Criticism.” I went through the book and blacked out all their imaginative assertions. I was able to refute their arguments because I had being keeping up to date with Biblical Archaeology.

If one is not sure whether there is a God, it must be admitted that the theory can sound very plausible. Needless to say one claim after the other was demolished by later archaeological finds. At one stage it was considered that there was no writing at the time of Moses. This was later found to be in error. Daniel chapter 9 discussed the time when the Messiah would arrive. The prophet gave an accurate time calculation regarding when Messiah would appear and even mentioned his death and the final destruction of Jerusalem that occurred in 70 CE. (Use this (link) to get the details of the prophecy) Of course these critics claimed that it had been written after the event. Their ignorance was shown up when Jesus, whose arrival and death had been predicted to occur, actually showed that he had the book of Daniel by referring to it.

(Matthew 24:15) . . .“Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,)

Daniel could not have written a prophecy after Jesus appearance because Jesus actually had his prophecy at hand. the final fulfilment of Daniel’s prophecy came in 70 CE when General Titus conqered Jerusalem and destroyed its temple. These self styled scholars should have made a study of the Bible before setting themselves up as authorities. There are many such examples in the Bible that expose their hypocrisy, but the damage had been done. The clergy that emerged from this educational system would naturally have had their faith severely seriously damaged. What was worse was that these educators were incapable of teaching Bible truth. So the clergy produced by this system were similarly handicapped.

A falling Away fron the Truth

(2 Timothy 4:3-4) . . .For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories.

Jesus had taught an illustration at Matt 13 called the parable of the sower. This parable was discussed in detail in my articles “Who is the Antichrist? and the “Origin of Religion.” He explained that an apostasy was to occur that would reach a climax during the last days. Other scriptures showed that it began after he died and the apostle John recorded that the apostasy was in full swing by the end of the 1st century of our common era.
In 325 CE this apostasy had become so great that it became the Roman state religion whereas Jesus had made it very plain that Christianity was to be no part of this world. After 325 CE, it began to break up in to many different religions. However the main point is that all the basic teachings remained the same, with each religion only differing on one or more points. This is what our modern day religions have inherited.  That is why they merely search the scriptures for proof texts to support those inherited teachings instead of studying the Bible the way Jesus taught his disciples to study using the topical method. All of this explains why the majority of people have lost faith in the bible and also their fear of the end of the world has become merely an old tune that is played on an old fiddle. However make mo mistake, The Bible does refer to an  end of this world. And once one studies the bible as Jesus taught us to study, the reasons for it become apparent. In the 1950′s I had heard that Jehovah’s witnesses were teaching that the end of the world was near. One day while walking through the grand parade in Cape town I spotted a very old book entitled “the time is at hand.”  It was part of a series entitled “Studies in the scriptures.” It was copyrighted in 1888. I obtained it and found that in the chapter entitled “the times of the gentiles” this passage appeared. “In this chapter we present the Bible evidence proving that the the full end of the times of the gentiles, i.e. the full end of their lease of dominion will be reached in A.D. 1914 and that that  date will see the disintegration of the rule of imperfect men. And be it observed, that if this is shown to be a fact firmly established by the scriptures :-

Firstly, That at that time the kingdom of God, for which our Lord taught us to pray, saying, “They kingdom come” will begin to assume control,…..Secondly, It will prove that He whose right it is thus to take the dominion will be present as earths new ruler”…..

As we are almost a 100 years away from 1914 what do the facts show? Has history shown this to be true? Yes!. Later I will give further explanation of what the “times of the gentiles” were, but for a more full discussion of the subject use the link “The 2nd Presence of Christ and the Rapture” I still possess this aforementioned book today. What should be understood though is that Christ’s presence would be invisible to human eyes and only discerned by the signs that he gave. The scriptural evidence for these statements can be found in the article “The 2nd Presence of Christ and the Rapture.”

I am afraid that a lot that I have to say has been discussed in great detail in my other articles so I will need to move over those subjects quickly. For example if anyone has any doubts regarding the Bible they should first of all read the articles regarding the Bible and Evolution until they are convinced that the Bible is truly God‘s inspired word. If one still doubts the Bible after that then the  only proof available will be the events of our time that confirm what the Bible actually taught.

As I have stated in almost every article that I have written, this universe had a beginning, which science has proved and this means that there has to be a God.

In the article “The  only hope for mankind,” I considered the Sabbath law that was given to the Jews in detail and showed that it was a shadow of things to come.

(Colossians 2:16-17) . . .Therefore let no man judge YOU in eating and drinking or in respect of a festival or of an observance of the new moon or of a sabbath; 17 for those things are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to the Christ. . .

Now that we have the complete Bible at hand we can look back and see that the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ mentioned in the book of revelation is a Sabbath for mankind. As the Jews had a Sabbath day, a Sabbath year and a Sabbath known as the Jubilee that occurred after 7 consecutive Sabbath years, then there should be no problem with understanding  that the 1000 year reign of Christ could  be a Sabbath for man. The miracles that Jesus did while on earth on the Sabbath, he did to  show what he would accomplish during that 1000 year Sabbath. One of the characteristics of the Sabbath laws was that slaves were liberated and everyone returned to their original inheritance. Everyone had a fresh start in life. So a person could never remain in poverty all his life but had a fresh start, well picturing what a Sabbath for mankind would be like.

If that 1000th year Sabbath was foreshadowed by the 7th day or 7th year of the Jewish Sabbath law, Then likewise it was man’s 7th 1000 year day  and was preceded by six  1000 year days. The entire 6 day period before the millenium then would be about 6000 years.

When would theses 6000 years days begin to count from?  Jesus referred to  Abel’s birth as “the founding of the “world“. God stated that he loved the “world” so much that he sent his son to die for us. So the “world” that he referred to was the world that came into existence with Abel’s birth.

Of course the Bible also uses the word world to describe a  wicked world. In that case it refers to the world of mankind alienated from God, That was the world that Jesus referred to when he said that his kingdom was no part of the world, and also that his disciples were to be no part of the world

(John 15:19) . If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world,. . .

(1 John 2:15-17) . . .Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.

To understand what the world that God loves refers to.  After Adam and Eve sinned they were dismissed from God’s family and because they preferred to follow Satan’s leadership they  came under his power and influence. In this way they became worshippers of Satan. They were now no longer being directed by God and were dying and in this way they payed for their wrongdoing.

(Romans 6:16) . . .Do YOU not know that if YOU keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him, YOU are slaves of him because YOU obey him, either of sin with death in view or of obedience with righteousness in view?

When Abel was born, he was the first human born in sin and imperfection and so a world came into existence composed of  persons who were all born imperfect and sinful due to no fault of their own. This was the world that God loved so much because it offended his love of justice. This was because the condition that mankind was  in was not their fault, so God in a loving way resolved to rectify the situation. Because Jehovah limits himself to always act in harmony with his laws, rectifying the situation required a legal way of accomplishing this. It was therefore necessary fo him to ransom mankind. This was the world Christ came and died for so as to give God a legal basis for restoring mankind to perfection in his due time. I have discussed this in detail in the article entitled “The Miracle of the Ransom.”

Counting from Adam’s creation using the Bible’s accurate count of time, we arrive  at  6000 years by the year1975 CE. Was this when our world’s 6th day of 6000 years of slavery under Satan’s rule ended? No!

Genesis 2 reveals that a period of time must have existed between Adam’s creation and Abel’s birth. What occurred during this time?

Gen 2 shows that God led Adam to the animals that he was forming and that Adam proceeded to name these creatures according to their individual characteristics. Eve was created next and a strong possibility exists that as her head, Adam may have spent some time instructing her as to what Jehovah had taught him and also the naming work that  he was at present engaged in.

Mankind’s week of 7ooo years, started from Abel’s birth and only began after God proceeded to rest. The beginning of imperfect man’s week and the beginning of God’s rest day or Sabbath day begin at different times.  However the  time between the two beginnings cannot be too long,  possibly  measured in years rather than centuries,

God’s Sabbath began after the creation of Adam and Eve and the issuing of God’s command for them to procreate. Chapter 2 of Genesis shows the details, so one should not assume that this all happened instantaneously. This is the sequence.

1. After Adam was created—-God provided a paradise garden and placed the man in it and then Adam was given the task of naming the  animals, then finally he realized that he needed a wife.
2. After God created Eve—Adam possibly instructed his wife as she knew that the tree of good and bad was forbidden. Only then did Gid give them his divine mandate to increase and multiply and fill the earth. All of must have taken time. Then God began his rest..
3. Sometime after this the serpent then tempted Eve and God dealt with their rebellion and put them out of Garden
4. Only after all this was Abel was born and imperfect man’s week of slavery to sin began.

As the world that God loved began with Abel and ran for 6 days of 1000 years each, followed by a 7th day sabbath of a 1000 years, sinful mankind’s week is a total of 7000 years. At the end of imperfect man’s sabbath, that 7000 year period, Christ will have restored mankind to perfection and handed perfected mankind to be finally tested by his father, Jehovah God, who had been resting meanwhile so  God’s rest day would therefore end at that time.

Now we can count the time from Adam’s creation to 1975 as 6000 years, but from the aforementioned list it is apparent that there is an unknown period between Adam’s creation and Abel’s birth which we don’t know. On that basis it is only possible to get an approximation of when the 6000 years from Abel ended, that is why Jesus said that no man would know the day or hour,  however  he gave us signs, that would be visible and also mentioned that all the signs would come on one generation. All of this is strong circumstantial evidence that the intervening period between Adam’s creation and the birth of Abel must be at least withing the length of a generation.

(Matthew 24:33-34) . . .Likewise also YOU, when YOU see all these things, know that he is near at the doors. ³⁴ Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur. . .

How long is this difference?

After Adam was created the Bible shows that God introduced him to all the animals that God was forming. Adam then named them according to their characteristics. Then God created Eve and brought her to Adam. Adam may have then acquainted her with the work that God had given them. At this point Gen chapter 1 says that God now gave the couple his divine mandate to increase multiply and fill the earth and then God rested. Thereafter Satan tempted Eve and God dismissed them from his family and from the paradise. The Bible then records that Abel was born. This was when man’s 6000 year week of slavery to sin and death began.

As God proceeded to rest after commanding Adam and Eve to procreate and fill the earth, it was some time after Adam’s creation and some time before Abel was born, therefore  it might have been a number of  years.  The article “The only hope for mankind” supplies all the necessary proof regarding these details and particularly with reference to the fact that God’s Sabbath or rest day then began and has been continuing even up to this moment. So God’s rest started after the mandate given to Adam and Eve and ends after Christ’s millennial reign ends.

(1 Corinthians 15:24) . . .Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. . .

What is the conclusion of the matter? God’s Sabbath must last at least for about 7000 years It began after Adam and Eve were created,and ends with Jesus handing the kingdom back to his father at the end of his 1000 year reign.

Counting 6000 years from Adam’s creation, we arrive at the year 1975 and as God’s rest began sometime after Adam’s creation there is a difference between the two starting times.

Abel was born some time later and so the starting point of this count of 6000 years is also slightly different. However the differences between these three stating times cannot be very large.Accoring to Jesus description of the ime of the end it should occur within one generation. (Matt 24:34)

This means that although it is impossible to know the exact day and hour we can be certain that we are very close to the end of 6000 years from the time when Abel was born.

This means that the world that started with Abel is almost 6000 year old. Because our Sabbath rest then starts at this point this is an indication that this world is near its end.The conclusion of the matter is that we are living during the time of the end, although we cannot precisely calculate when it will occur. This is one line of evidence.

Summary of Sabbath Calculation

1. Sabbath Laws were the 7th day, the 7th year, or the Jubilee (50th after 49 sabbath years)
2. Paul said the Sabbath was a shadow of things to come
3. Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man’s benefit
4. The anti-typical Sabbath meant a Release from Slavery to  Sin and death. It meant a new beginning for all and a  returning to mankind’s original inheritance.  Jesus showed by his example that that this was the time for mankind to be healed and to have the dead raised.
5. Jesus’ Millennial rule lasts for a 1000 years. Satan is to be bound for a 1000 years. During that time mankind is at peace. The survivors of Armageddon are brought to human perfection.  The resurrection of the righteous and those unrighteous persons that never had a proper chance occurs.
6. The 1000 year millennium was foreshadowed by the Jewish Sabbath.
7. If our Sabbath is 1000 years long then the preceding 6 days are each a 1000 years  long and total 6000 years. That would then concludes man’s week pf 7000 years.
8. God’s Sabbath rest day also ends when the millennium ends. God’s king Jesus Christ will have restored everything that went wrong by the end of his reign, God’s rest therefore ends with all that he originally purposed fulfilled. He never even had to alter his timetable. What a tribute to our creator’s wisdom and power.
9. When did mankind’s week of slavery to sin and death begin? With the birth of Abel. Why? Because Abel was the first imperfect and sinful human born into a world enslaved to  sin imperfection and death. Counting from Abel’s time to the end of the world would be 6000 years and then followed by the millennium..
10. When was Able born? We don’t know but we do know when Adam was created.
11. Adam was created 6000 years ago. That 6000 years ended in  1975.
12. How long was the time from Adam to Abel? We don’t know but it could not have been very long. Only about the length of a generation according to Jesus’ statement at Matt 24:34. Adam was created, God educated him for a while and then God created Eve.  Adam may also have instructed her for a while. Then God gave them his mandate adn then he rested.
13. God’s Sabbath began after Adam an Eve were  created, but before they sinned and also before Abel was born.
14. The conclusion is that, counting from Adam 6000 years of human history ended in 1975 and Abel’s week began a short time after that then it follows that 6000 years counting from Abel’s birth ends some time after 1975.
15. How long after 1975 will the end occur? the time equivalent to the length of time from Adam’s creation to Abel’ birth during which all the things that happened in chapter 2 of Genesis occurred. According to Jesus’s statement no longer than a generation.
16. Because God’s Sabbath started after Adam and Eve’s creation but before Abel’s birth, his Sabbath must be slightly longer than 7000 years in length.

What we are fundamentally interested in is that we must be very close to the end of this wicked world now, but to faithful servants of God the prospects of entering a righteous  new world is at hand and we may survive without experiencing death at all. This is one line of evidence

The Gentile Times

This prophecy has been discussed in some detail in one of my articles entitled “Who Rules the world” and so I cannot discuss it in detail here but I definitely recommend that one checks this article for the evidence. Basically it was a prophecy that had to do with the setting up of the heavenly government in the hands of Jesus Christ.  Ancient Jerusalem was the only government that God personally ruled. Its kings were reported to be sitting on the throne of Jehovah. Through their disobedience, God allowed that typical kingdom of God to be chopped down in 607 BCE.  Although Jerusalem was rebuilt and the Jews returned to their land, they were now subject to the rule of the gentiles or non-Jewish nations.  So far as God was concerned, at that time there was no kingdom of God on earth.

The prophecy of the Gentile times can be calculated to be 2520 years. Counting from 607 BCE this period of 2520 years ended in 1914 CE. You need to check the actual prophecy explained in the article “who rules the World.”   What was to happen at that date?

Jesus Christ was to be installed as Jehovah’s king in the heavens. This was the re-established kingdom God. That is why the prophecy is called the gentile times because the Gentile nations ruled the world without interference from God for that period. As Jesus had said that the world would see him no more it stands to reason that his 2nd presence would be invisible and only discerned by the signs he gave

(John 14:19) . . .A little longer and the world will behold me no more, but YOU will behold me, because I live and YOU will live.

In 1914 the invisible presence of Jesus Christ began and he began to rule in the midst of his enemies as explained at Psalm 110. The first action of the newly installed king was to go to war against Satan the Devil who had had access to heaven and earth up to that time.

(Revelation 12:7-10) 7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi?cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God!

(Revelation 12:12) . . .On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

We must remember that in the past Satan had also been tempting the angels in heaven and had even succeeded in turning some away from God during the time preceding the flood of Noah’s day.

Satan and his wicked angels were cast to the earth and scripture shows that since 1914 he has been increasing wickedness and increasing the woes on earth. God has permitted this because he is also having a message preached to mankind.

Jehovah purposes to Judge mankind in righteousness using his son. This judgment will occur during the 1000 year judgment day. This time has been provided so that  imperfect humans that never had a proper opportunity to accurately know God’s will will get this opportunity. Together with God’s faithful servants that died in the past they will be resurrected to enjoy their rest during the millenium.

(Acts 17:31) . . .Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has furnished a guarantee to all men in that he has resurrected him from the dead.”

As God purposed to have a warning message declared to mankind, so that they can avoid the destruction that is coming, it is first necessary for judgment to start with the house of God. There are many that claim to be God’s people  today and so religions have to be judged first so that a faithful and discreet slave can be selected and appointed to take this message faithfully to the people.

( Peter 4:17) . . .For it is the appointed time for the judgment to start with the house of God. Now if it starts first with us, what will the end be of those who are not obedient to the good news of God?

This judgment is recorded at Matt 24. at verse 45. The original Christian congregation was set up to feed the spiritual food to his earthly servants. In 1914 Jesus found one such group of servants  faithfully carrying out the preaching of the Kingdom message and informing people what was happening. The scripture shows what he did.

(Matthew 24:45-51) . . .“Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.

(Matthew 24:14) . . .And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

On the other hand he also judged other slaves that also claimed to be he his servants. However these were not keeping up with the truth and were neglecting their work and were getting involved with national and political affairs, even taking sides in the war. Not only that but they were actually persecuting the faithful slaves. The scripture shows how Jesus judged them.

48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.

From that time, which basically ended about 1918, the religions of the world have drifted further and further away from the truth confirming what had occurred by 1918. However the true congregation has continued to be busy with the  preaching of the message commanded by Jesus.

The Sign of Christ’s Presence

As Jesus’ 2nd presence was invisible to mankind it was necessary to give  Jesus’ followers a  sign so they could know where they were in the stream of time. What did Jesus give as the sign of his presence and the end of the world?

(Matthew 24:3) . . .While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

(Matthew 24:6) 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

(Matthew 24:7-8) 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

(Matthew 24:14)  And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

(Luke 21:10-11) . . .Then he went on to say to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs. . .

All these events have occurred since 1914.
The 1st World War in 1914 “The beginning of the pangs of distress”
The Spanish Flu. (the pestilence predicted by Jesus) 30,000,000 dead.
The Great Economic Depression of 1918 -1920
The 2nd world War 1939 –1945 Continuing the distress.
Hearing of wars and reports of wars (the many minor wars like in Korea, Vietnam, The 6th day war, Afghanistan the Spanish civil war etc.)
Other epidemics like “Aids,” Swine’s flu,” Cancer, heart disease` and Altsheimers, etc.
Increasing of lawlessness —-increase of Crime, corruption and moral breakdown
The present economic depression
Large increasee of earthquakes and other natural disasters.
Increase of people having a form of religion and proving false to its power
The change in people’s general attitudes.

The ruining of the earth

(2 Timothy 3:1-5) . . .But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. .

Can anyone deny that these conditions have marked this period since 1914.

But how long will they carry on?

(Matthew 24:32-39) . . .“Now learn from the fig tree as an illustration this point: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and it puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near. 33 Likewise also YOU, when YOU see all these things, know that he is near at the doors. 34 Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. 36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

Jesus showed that the generation that saw these signs would not pass away before all these things accurred. He also said that most people would respond like the people  in Noah’s day. They would not take notice of the warning that is being given.

37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.

What will happen once the preaching of the kingdom is completed

At Matt 25:31 describe that when the son of man arrives he would sit on his throne and all the nations would be gathered before him and he separates them into sheep and goats on the basis of how they responded to the warnings in the kingdom message They are judged according to how they received this message. After the judgement he goes into action against this wicked world.

(Revelation 19:11-12) . . .And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. 12 His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. . . .

(Revelation 19:14) . . .Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen.

(Revelation 19:15-16) . . .. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

(Revelation 14:19-20) . . .And the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and he hurled it into the great winepress of the anger of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress as high up as the bridles of the horses, for a distance of a thousand six hundred furlongs.

(Revelation 20:1-3) . . .And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. . .

(Daniel 2:44) . . .“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite. . .

If the preachers of the kingdom message call at your door to give you a witness regarding the kingdom, you would be wise to listen to them and check the scriptures in the Bible to see if they speak the truth. What you read in my articles is not my own. My studying the Bible with Jehovah’s witnesses has resulted in the knowledge that I have. You can judge whether they have served as a “Faithful and Discreet slave” and given me the proper spiritual food at the right time.
