Part 2

A Universal issue

Satan is first mentioned in the Bible when he tempted Adam and Eve with the purpose of discrediting God and challenging God’s authority. He attacked God’s way of ruling, his truthfulness, his motives and so challenging God’s right to rule his creation. He implied that humans could do better on their own and set the example himself by his independent stand. This matter has been discussed in greater detail in other articles on my site.
God has permitted Satan the full opportunity to prove his challenge which also includes the claim that no human would remain faithful and obedient to God if Satan was permitted to bring hardship upon the human.
As we can see the Bible not only provides the proof of extra terrestrial life, but defines what it is and what is going on in the spirit realm. Although the spirit realm is separate from the material world it can also affect the material world. When God expelled the disobedient humans from the paradise, he placed two cherubs at the opening of paradise to prevent them from going back.(Genesis 3:24) What happened after that?

About 1656 years later, the population of the earth had grown somewhat and the Bible describes how this affected these spirit sons of God. Apparently some of the angelic sons of God began to cultivate a selfish desire for the pleasures of a relationship with the attractive women of that time. These ones decided to materialize human bodies and to enter into marriage arrangements with the women. This they did and the Bible says that they took wives for themselves. The text even suggests that this was done forcibly.

(Genesis 6:2) . . .then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose. . .

These marriages produced hybrids. The offspring were unusually large men who acquired the reputation of being bullies. The word Nephilim actually means “Fellers”

The angels Materialize

(Genesis 6:1-2) . . .Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers on the surface of the ground and daughters were born to them, 2 then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose. . .

These extra large men were actually the offspring of materialized angels and human woman. The memory of these times may be reflected in the legends that developed regarding the magicians and wizards who were able to perform magical acts. Certainly these materialized angels would certainly have been able to miraculous things with their superior powers. This may also be the source of the legends in Greek mythology concerning the Gods that married mortals and producing heroes like Hercules and others.
(Genesis 6:4) . . .The Neph´i·lim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame.
How did God react to this perversion of his creation? He decided to end that world as the scripture showed from verse 5.
5 Consequently Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. 6 And Jehovah felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart. 7 So Jehovah said: “I am going to wipe men whom I have created off the surface of the ground, from man to domestic animal, to moving animal and to flying creature of the heavens, because I do regret that I have made them. . .
The Nephilim were destroyed by the flood but of course these disobedient angels were not destroyed. They simply dematerialized and went back into the spirit realm, but did they escape punishment? No! God did not destroy them because the universal issue was still in the process of being settled, but as they now supported Satan, they were expelled from God’s faithful organization of spirit sons.
(2 Peter 2:4-5) . . .Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tar´ta·rus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment; 5 and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people;

(Jude 6-7) . . .And the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds under dense darkness for the judgment of the great day. 7 So too Sod´om and Go·mor´rah and the cities about them, after they in the same manner as the foregoing ones had committed fornication excessively and gone out after flesh for unnatural use, are placed before [us] as a [warning] example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire. . .

Restraining the Demons

By comparing the two scriptures were notice that the main wrongdoing at that time was the active participation in sex by these angels with human women. This was unnatural and was regarded by God as a perversion. Notice that the same reason was given for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The word Tartarus is only used once in the Bible and only applied to wicked spirit creatures. From the context it can be understood to refer to the debased condition that they were now assigned too. The bonds that these creatures were put in refers to the restraint put upon them. It also explains why only God’s faithful angels from that time on were permitted to materialize so that they could handle assignments from God.
Since that time these wicked spirit creatures could only work through mediums and apparitions but they never could materialize to pollute the human race again. However this has not stopped humans from polluting the human race by their perversions. In this regard the clergy of Christendom and other religions stand guilty before God in that their flocks who looked to them for guidance were misled by permitting them to believe that this was merely a sexual preference. From God’s point of view it is a perversion of creation.

(Romans 1:24) . . .Therefore God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. . .
(Romans 1:26-27) . . .That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.
(Romans 1:28) . . .And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting. . .

This article is not an attempt to condemn individuals that do these things, because the primary blame rests with their clergy. The clergy, by failing to give them accurate knowledge of the scriptures, left them in a position where they were unable to defend themselves. Lacking the faith and unable to understand God’s point of view they have done these things. But if they persist in this course they will receive God’s adverse judgment because these are the main reasons for his destruction of the world at the flood and also Sodom and Gomorrah.

The Origin of the Devil

From the foregoing it becomes clear, where the devil and his wicked angels have come from. God named the disobedient spirit son “Satan” which means “Opposer” and also “Devil” which means “Slanderer)
From this it is apparent that the popular idea of the devil being a horned creature with a fork stirring up the fires of hell is nonsense. If he appeared to you and I in a vision we could mistake him for God himself, because he would appear so glorious. The same applies to his wicked spirit followers that are today called demons.
(Galatians 1:8) However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed.. . .
(2 Corinthians 11:14)  And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light.. . .

Many persons have been deceived by visions of that nature and have been in contact with the wicked spirit world. The angels that supported Satan have come to be known as “demons.” To show the power that Satan has we can check the account at Job.
The background to the attacks that Satan made on Job is this:- Satan accused Job of only serving God for selfish reasons, claiming that Job would never remain loyal to God if Satan was allowed to get at him. There were two phases and each time Jehovah showed his confidence in Job’s loyalty. Satan did everything to discredit Job but he remained faithful. Let us see what methods Satan used.
(Job 1:13-19)  Now it came to be the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. 14 And there came a messenger to Job, and he proceeded to say: “The cattle themselves happened to be plowing and the she-asses were grazing at the side of them 15 when the Sa·be´ans came making a raid and taking them, and the attendants they struck down with the edge of the sword; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.” 16 While this one was yet speaking that one came and proceeded to say: “The very fire of God fell from the heavens and went blazing among the sheep and the attendants and eating them up; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.” 17 While that one was yet speaking another one came and proceeded to say: “The Chal·de´ans made up three bands and went dashing against the camels and taking them, and the attendants they struck down with the edge of the sword; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.” 18 While this other one was yet speaking, still another one came and proceeded to say: “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. 19 And, look! there came a great wind from the region of the wilderness, and it went striking the four corners of the house, so that it fell upon the young people and they died. And I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.. . .

(Job 2:7-10) . . .So Satan went out away from the person of Jehovah and struck Job with a malignant boil from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 8 And he proceeded to take for himself a fragment of earthenware with which to scrape himself; and he was sitting in among the ashes. 9 Finally his wife said to him: “Are you yet holding fast your integrity? Curse God and die!” 10 But he said to her: “As one of the senseless women speaks, you speak also. Shall we accept merely what is good from the [true] God and not accept also what is bad?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

If one reads the scripture then we can see that Satan used the forces of nature. There was lightning from heaven that started a fire amongst the sheep and killing the attendants On another occasion he brought a great wind that destroyed Job’s house and the young people that were in it. On other occasions he used people, For example he used the Sabeans and also the Chaldeans who raided and wrecked havoc with Job’s property , killing his children. The final straw was by physically afflicting Job with a loathsome skin disease, even using his wife to work against Job’s integrity.

This does not mean that Satan can do as he likes, however it indicates that he will be allowed by God a certain amount of freedom to do these things in pursuing his goal of deceiving humans and getting them to incur God’s wrath.  Satan’s power is further shown by certain events in the history of the world. We must remember that when God discharged Adam and Eve out of his paradise, A world came into existence dominated by Satan whom Adam and Eve had chosen to follow. God for his part has preserved his word down the centuries so that persons who did not want to be deceived by Satan could get the truth and be able to see through Satan’s wicked schemes. On the other hand Satan is going all out to retain his hold on all humans by means of deception,
Jesus showed  that Satan was the ruler of this world
(John 14:30) I shall not speak much with YOU anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me,
Jesus also showed that Satan controlled the kingdoms on earth
(Luke 4:5-8) . . .So he brought him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time; 6 and the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it. 7 You, therefore, if you do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours.” 8 In reply Jesus said to him: “It is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
To show how extensive this control of the nations by Satan is, Daniel records an occasion when the Medo- Persian empire was the dominant world power. Daniel had been praying to God and God sent an angel to Daniel. The angel told Daniel that he had been sent to the kings of Persia, doubtless to influence the Persians to carry out some assignment. A wicked spirit prince that was in control of the Persia had prevented him from carrying out his assignment for 21 days until Michael the archangel came to help him and so he could carry out his assignment.

(Daniel 10:12-14) 12 And he went on to say to me: “Do not be afraid, O Daniel, for from the first day that you gave your heart to understanding and humbling yourself before your God your words have been heard, and I myself have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the royal realm of Persia was standing in opposition to me for twenty-one days, and, look! Mi´cha·el, one of the foremost princes, came to help me; and I, for my part, remained there beside the kings of Persia. 14 And I have come to cause you to discern what will befall your people in the final part of the days, because it is a vision yet for the days [to come].. . .
This shows us the enormous power that these wicked spirits can exert. It also shows why the world has never ceased warring against one another. Because these nations reflect the selfish wicked spirit that these demon princes have and which is reflected in the way that they control the nations that they have oversight of.
The next scripture has been misapplied by certain religions. They claim that this occurred at the beginning after Adam and Eve sinned, but it has been taken out of context. The book of revelation is a prophecy about what would happen in the future. And further study will show that this has happened in our time accounting for the wicked acts that are taking place worldwide. However the details can not be discussed in this article. The point we wish to make is that the scripture says plainly that Satan is misleading the entire earth.
(Revelation 12:9) . . .So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
The implication of these words is staggering. Most people take it for granted that the religion that they are associated with is worshipping the true God. How could this be so when the Bible says that Satan is misleading the entire inhabited earth?

(Matthew 7:21-23) . . .Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
(Matthew 23:28) . . .In that way YOU also, outwardly indeed, appear righteous to men, but inside YOU are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. . .

The only way we can be sure of where we stand is by a careful study of the Bible. However the majority of people are content to remain ignorant preferring to leave their lives in the hands of their clergy. This will only lead to their destruction.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) . . .All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
After considering the details it becomes obvious that the search for intelligent life in outer space is a futile exercise. We cannot be dogmatic about this, but it does not seem likely at this stage of creation. The reason is that our world is locked in a universal issue that came into question when man was created. And it seems most unlikely that God would continue to proceed with the material creation of life on any other planets without first settling the issue that has arisen here on earth, otherwise rebellion could break out in other parts of the universe.

What should We Do?

As to the future we cannot read God’s mind but only know what he tells us.
What is more urgent for us now is to be aware that there is already extra terrestrial life. A form of life that existed even before the material universe. The Bible refers to these life forms as :spirit.”  Rebellion has broken out in the spirit realm and has involved mankind. Our destiny hinges on what side of the issue we take. If we want to make the right choice then we need to gain an accurate knowledge of the Bible independent of what the clergy have taught us. In my personal experience only Jehovah’s witnesses use the study method advocated by Jesus at Luke 24:27 This method is a topical method. The clergy have already a more or less fixed doctrine that they have inherited. They search the scriptures for scriptural support to these doctrines instead of making a thorough examination of the subject and allowing scripture to explain scripture. Because of the study method that Jehovah’s witnesses use they have an accurate knowledge of the Bible. I used the method in this article and you can see for yourself that I  selected the subject of “spirit life.” I then brought all the scriptures relating to the subject together. Our understanding of the subject is now in perfect agreement with all the scriptures. There are no contradictions. That is why I can say with conviction that this is the truth. The witnesses have been using this method for over a hundred years.
