Part 1

The Search for Life

Billions of dollars are being spent on the research for extra-terrestrial life. Why? We wonder why because although the subject is interesting does it warrant the amount spent on it when most of earth’ inhabitants are in poverty and lack the essentials of life. However I suspect there may be another motive. Is it possible that what evolutionary motivated scientists are looking for is an alternative explanation for the creation of life on earth.

Most research for the origin of life in our Solar System has so far ended in failure. In desperation evolutionary scientists clutch at straws. Why? On the one hand most evolutionist scientists deny the evidence of design in nature, preferring to pass it off as the mere appearance of design. Yet on the other hand they contradict themselves by sending out radio signals into space in the hope that intelligent life somewhere in outer space will recognize the design in these signals. As we know, design is the hallmark of intelligent persons. They hope that they will receive a reply proving that there is life out there.

Is Evolution the Motivation for the Search?

Most evolutionary scientists have rejected the Bible as an accurate source of information. They disbelieve the Adam and Eve account in the Bible. Some of them claim to be Christians, and are members of professed Christian churches, little realising that Jesus Christ, whom they profess to follow, believed wholeheartedly in the Bible story of Adam and Eve. (Matt19:4-7) Darwin discovered nothing new. On the Galapagos Islands, he noticed that there were differences within families of living creatures. One example has received much publicity namely the variation within finches. These differences were already acknowledged as variations within the kind according to the Bible. There are many kinds of dogs, yet they can all interbreed and never change into something else. Dogs always produced dogs, no matter what kind of dog. Similarly cats are always cats. Therefore Darwin actually discovered nothing new, as his finches were still finches. He merely invented the thought that the changes could extend beyond the limits of the kind, and suggested that a process called “natural selection” was responsible for channeling these small variations in an upward direction. He actually proposed that these variations could go so far that they could change the creature into something else. In other words Darwin claimed that all life evolved from a simple cell into the variety we see today. Darwin actually found no evidence to support his claim. He only invented an idea which persons with materialistic inclinations, who did not want to be responsible to any higher power found acceptable. To such persons, the evolution theory sounded plausible. It also provided an acceptable reason for unscrupulous business men and dictators to feel that what they doing was in harmony with natural law. It rationalized the “dog eat dog” principle.

The Failure to Create Life

After many years of research and attempts to create life in the laboratory, no life has been produced. Also no fossil evidences has ever been found of intermediate forms of life, The missing links are still missing. So the next step is to theorize that life came from outer space.

Evolution and Science fiction

Evolutionists used to depict pictures of extra terrestrials in science fiction books that were supposed to have been more intelligent than humans. These were portrayed with large heads for their large brains and thin spindly legs and arms. Also they were generally shown to be somewhere out in space and are supposed to have evolved higher up the scale than humans. Why were they portrayed that way?   Because they were supposed to have evolved so far that they did not need strong legs and arms. They were supposed to use their advanced mental powers to accomplish what they needed to do. Now I enjoy science fiction, but it is science fiction. I think that recently they have also begun to abandon this idea of how life would look, because the scientific evidence seems to indicate that the laws of the universe are universal. And if the same laws apply out in space that are applicable here then it would seem that the way we are built is probably the best way in any case. However Hollywood likes special effects and so they continue to portray living creatures like that.

Creation a Fact of Life

However the Bible shows that extra terrestrial life does exist. How do we know that? Well it is simple.  Modern science has definitely shown that our material universe had a beginning. Astronomy has confirmed that the universe is expanding. Observations with regard to energy transformation suggest that the universe is subject to the second law of thermodynamics. As such it had to have a beginning and in a high degree of order. At this stage apparently it is supposed to be running down. An illustration might help. Suppose one came to a desert town and found a bucket with a hole in it. If the bucket was empty, this would indicate nothing, but if it was half full and the water was running out it, we would know that at some stage someone had filled it.

If the universe were infinite, then there would be no stars giving off light and heat today. Why? They would have all used up there fuel and died, unless there was a source outside the universe pouring fuel into the universe. But that would presuppose a creator maintaining the fuel supply. So you see all the evidence points to a creation of the universe and therefore a creator.  If we imagine that the history of the expanding universe was recorded on a film. By rolling back the film we would find it shrinking to a dot and then disappear. Common sense tells us that nothing can come out of nothing so what conclusion would we arrive at? Some invisible personage with enormous power and intelligence must have created our universe with all its laws. Surely that is evidence of superhuman extra terrestrial life whose creative designs are all around us, provided that we are smart enough to see it. So why are scientists still searching for something that we already know exists?

Evolution’s Anti-Creation Bias

Evolutionary scientists don’t seem to like the implications of creation. Why? Some say that they cannot see God. Well even if they did get signals from space, they would not be able to see the creatures that sent them, so why can they not believe in an invisible creator?. They are looking for the evidence of design out in space and yet the earth is filled with design, which they do not want to acknowledge. It is almost as if they have some psychological block in their minds. Why this driving anti-creation bias?  Darwin may have had an excuse because he did not have the scientific knowledge that we have today but what is their excuse?

As far as I know the scientific method is to observe and draw conclusions in harmony with the facts. However evolutionists continue to search for evidence that they believe must exist to support their theory. Is this the scientific method or is it religion? I watched a documentary showing evolutionary scientists clapping their hands for joy when they saw a body of some sort colliding with Jupiter. But this was a catastrophe, and evolutionary scientists originally rejected the historic evidence of the global flood of Noah’s day because the rules of interpretation that they follow outlawed catastrophes. We already knew that our moon had been bombarded with meteorites that produced craters. So what is unusual about bodies colliding in space. As far as I can judge their jubilance was because they thought that in some way this collision with Jupiter supported a theory that the earth and other planets were formed by a bombardment of meteors. This evidence is rather flimsy is it not? How does this stack up with a rejection of catastrophes? Remember  they rejected the record of the global flood because it was a catastrophe. Does this not indicate an anti-Bible prejudice. Scientists are supposed to be objective.

What Science can Teach us

Science can only take us back as far as creation. Furthermore it can only draw our attention to the design in creation. A study of the universe gives us knowledge of the enormous power needed to create a universe. It helps us to see the wisdom and design in creation and it also helps us to see that God wants his creation to enjoy their existence. What we really need to know is why the world is in such a sorry state? Why the selfishness and brutality. Animals don’t show the cruelty that humans display to one another. In the movie matrix a character suggested that humans are a virus in the system. They multiply and destroy there own environment. What do you think? Science cannot answer the question why? God can. If we want to know why humans are in this sorry state even though we have had everything in creation going for us, then God will have to explain the reasons to us. Happily he has done this in his record to us. He also tells us something about other invisible creatures that are certainly extra terrestrial. They are not material because they existed before the material universe came into existence.

The Bible identifies Extra Terrestrial Life

In the very first chapter of the Bible God is shown to be speaking to someone else when he described the creation of man. He said:-“let us make man in our image” (Genesis1 :26)

Who was he speaking to?

(Proverbs 8:22-24) . . .“Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains. . .
(Proverbs 8:27-28) . . .When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, 28 when he made firm the cloud masses above,. . .
(Proverbs 8:30-31) . . .then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.

Who was this person identified as the one brought forth at the beginning of all creation and before the material universe was created? He is none other than Jesus Christ.

(Colossians 1:15-17) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist,
(Philippians 2:5-8) . . .Keep this mental attitude in YOU that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. 7 No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. 8 More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, . . .

Colossians chapter 1 reveals that Jesus was used as a co-creator of heavenly things. At Verse 16 it says all things were created through him and for him. This is very revealing because it indicates that there were also other heavenly things created. On one occasion God spoke to Job.

(Job 38:3) . . .And Jehovah proceeded to answer Job out of the windstorm and say:
(Job 38:4) . . .Where did you happen to be when I founded the earth? Tell [me], if you do know understanding.
(Job 38:7) . . .When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?

(Psalm 89:6-8) For who in the skies can be compared to Jehovah? Who can resemble Jehovah among the sons of God? 7 God is to be held in awe among the intimate group of holy ones; He is grand and fear-inspiring over all who are round about him. 8 O Jehovah God of armies, Who is vigorous like you, O Jah?. . .

God Has a Name

To those who are confused by the name Jehovah, according to “Young’s Analytical concordance” the personal name of God known as the “Tetragrammaton” appears 6,823 times in the original text. The King James version of the Bible of 1611, represents this by “Jehovah” in four places but in the rest it follows an ancient Jewish tradition and substitutes “LORD” and “GOD” for the name. This is very confusing as the word “lord” is also used for others as well. Some criticise the use of the name because they say that the Hebrews never pronounced the name like that. Of course it is well known that names are generally pronounced differently in different languages and of course the Bible was not written in English so it is difficult to understand what the fuss is about. If we stopped using the name Jesus because the Hebrew and Greek pronunciation was different, what would we replace it with?

The translation that I am using at the moment is the “NW Translation of the Holy Scriptures” and it uses the name Jehovah every time and so makes for better understanding of what the original text actually said.

The Spirit World

The Bible says that God is a spirit and that he accomplishes work by means of his Holy Spirit. The Hebrew and Greek words translated “spirit” in English basically mean “wind”, “breath” or “air” so the word is used to describe an invisible force. In keeping with the original meaning of an invisible force, we can conclude that God’s Holy Spirit is his invisible active force. “Spirit” can also describe an attitude that a person has (eg.“an “aggressive spirit”), or the life force which is also an invisible force. (Ecclesiastes 3:19) Because God is invisible and yet exerts force he is also called spirit. The word “angel” means “messenger” and because the spirit sons of God many times performed a function as messengers from God to man, they are called in a general way as “angels”

(John 4:24) . . .God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”

(Psalm 104:4)  Making his angels spirits, His ministers a devouring fire.

These angels also serve in various capacities such as “Cherubs” of Seraphs.

(Psalm 99:1) . . .Jehovah himself has become king. Let the peoples be agitated. He is sitting upon the cherubs. Let the earth quiver. . .
(Isaiah 6:1-2) . . ., however, got to see Jehovah, sitting on a throne lofty and lifted up, and his skirts were filling the temple. 2 Seraphs were standing above him.. . .
On one occasion God is shown to be holding an Assembly in the heavens.
(Job 1:6) Now it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them.

Who was this person “Satan”? The book of revelation explains that “Satan” is also called the “Devil” and was the original Serpent of Genesis chapter 3.
(Revelation 12:9) “. . .the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth;………”
To summarize so far, we see that God our creator is a spirit person. His first act of creation was a spirit son who later came to earth as Jesus. Jesus served as a co-creator and through him all other heavenly creations were made. The other creations are many spirit sons of God generally called angels but in addition some serve in different capacities, like seraphs and cherubs.

Now we have need to go back and look at the first time humans encountered Satan and in what capacity.
